Our Love Story
It was a beautiful summer day in Pittsburgh and I was hanging out by the pool at Arsenal Apartment complex. Sitting on the edge of the pool, a man in a donut inner tube and bucket hat floated over to me. He grabbed my foot, pointed to my tattoo and said, “what the heck does this say?” to which I replied, “hakuna matata, what the heck does that say?” pointing to the tattoo on his left arm. “Budweiser Light beer” he replied. From that moment, I knew I liked Alex. I was a BIG Bud Light girl back then and a big fan of tattoos ;).
We spent that evening mingling in both of our friend groups at William Penn Tavern. Alex left early and in a rush to which I thought, he must have a girlfriend he’s leaving for. My friends and I had tickets to a Flume concert the next day and Alex and his friends had gotten tickets to join us. While at the concert, I passed along to my friends that I was interested in him and I got his number. To which we found out we were both from the 717!!! While the rest of our group pushed through the crowd to the front of the stage, I followed Alex to the merch booth and bought the same Flume t-shirt as him. I left early that night as I had to work the next morning. A few days later was the Kenny Chesney concert in Pittsburgh. I held a big tailgate outside of the stadium and Alex came. Neither of us went into the concert but we spent the night at Tequila Cowboy together.
The following week I asked Alex on our first date. I had just got done at F45 and was getting my nails done. Alex had texted me while I was there asking how my day was. I told my nail girl Katie that I had met someone, and she told me to ask him out for drinks that night. I asked him to meet me for a drink at William Penn Tavern. We were both sweaty and gross, but we closed the place down. On a Tuesday. We have been together ever since!
Alex asked me to marry him while we were in Paris, France on September 1st, 2024. We were in a beautiful garden in Paris. We celebrated the night with hot dogs, martinis, rose, and overlooked the Eiffel Tower as it sparkled.
We look forward to a life of many more travels, love, and happiness together. We cannot wait to celebrate our wedding with all of our favorite people in Costa Rica.
¡Vamos a Costa Rica!

Language
The official language in Costa Rica is Spanish, so it’s helpful to know a few key Spanish phrases and greetings before your trip to Costa Rica.
In the more touristy areas of the country, many Costa Ricans speak English, but if you’re planning to travel off the beaten path, it’s wise to learn some common phrases in the local language. You can even learn some amusing Costa Rican phrases to strike up a conversation with a local while you’re visiting Costa Rica.
Passport for flying
Don't forget to check your passports for expiration. Per Costa Rican regulations, your passport must be valid 3 months after your travel dates.

Frequently Asked Questions...
Can I bring...... ?
While we would love to have everyone attend our wedding events, we are keeping things intimate and personal. We hope you will understand that invitations are extended only to those named on the invite.
Why a destination wedding?
We felt that a destination wedding was more our vibe and style. We understand that not everyone feels that way and we know this is a commitment- your effort to be with us means everything.
We chose a place that feels meaningful to us, and having you there makes it even more so. If you cannot make it, we absolutely understand and we still feel your love.
What do we wear?
Tropical Formal
For women, long or midi dresses in floral prints, tropical colors or neutrals, breezy fabrics like chiffon or silk are perfect. Dressy sandals or wedges (heels OK, but stilettos may sink in sand).
For men, linen or lightweight suits in soft, beachy tones are ideal—ties are optional, but style is encouraged. Loafers or boat shoes.
Please note: the ceremony will be on the sand, and barefoot is welcome (and even encouraged)!
Dress to impress—but make it tropical.

Costa Rica observes Central Standard Time (CST) all year. There are no daylight saving time clock changes.
Do I need any plug adaptors?
Outlets are the same as in the U.S. so no electric adapters/converters are needed.
